Eab is a 76-year-old woman from Cambodia. She is a widow whose husband passed away during the Khmer Rouge era. She currently lives with her granddaughter, who works as a grocery seller. She has three children, all of whom are married and live in nearby villages. In her free time, she enjoys listening to monks chanting prayers and visiting the pagoda when possible. Eab developed swelling, pain, and redness of the right knee one week after undergoing a right total knee replacement in July 2025. Due to an infected knee implant, she subsequently underwent surgical debridement in September 2025. Despite treatment, the infection has recurred, and she is currently experiencing a recurrent right knee prosthetic joint infection. To address the infection and prevent further complications, the surgical team plans to remove the infected implant, perform knee fusion, and apply an external fixation frame as part of her treatment. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On June 9th, Eab will undergo surgery that will help control the infection, relieve pain, and improve the stability of her leg. This is expected to improve her ability to move more comfortably and reduce ongoing complications. Eab's family can contribute $100, but needs help raising $500 more to fund her procedure and care. Eab said, “After the surgery, I hope I can walk more comfortably without pain. I would like to be able to go to the pagoda more easily, participate in religious activities, and be more independent in my daily life.”

Srey Neth is a 13-month-old baby girl from Cambodia. She lives in Kandal Province with her grandmother and older brother, who is in Grade 2. Due to financial difficulties, her parents moved to the city to work, with her father working as a grocery seller and her mother working in a garment factory. She enjoys playing with dolls and toys and likes eating sour fish soup and fried pork with vegetables. Srey Neth was born with syndactyly of her left hand. This means that her first, second, third, and fourth fingers of her left hand are fused and share the same nail. The fused fingers limit the normal movement and function of her left hand. This makes it difficult for her to grasp and hold toys, pick up objects, and develop normal hand skills as she grows. The condition may also affect the appearance of her hand and her confidence in the future. Fortunately, on July 21st, surgeons will perform a syndactyly repair procedure to separate and release the fused fingers. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $462 to fund this procedure. After surgery, she will be able to use her hand more easily for holding toys, grasping objects, and developing normal hand skills as she grows. Srey Neth's mother said, “I hope this surgery will help my daughter use her left hand more normally so she can hold things, play, and grow up like other children.”

Ryan is a hardworking father from the Philippines. He is the family's only regular income earner, supporting his children who are currently studying while covering most of their daily needs and household expenses. His wife stays at home to care for their children and occasionally takes on small jobs when opportunities arise to supplement the family's income. Ryan enjoys playing basketball, a sport he has loved for many years, and still plays with his co-workers whenever they have free time as a way to stay active and unwind. Two years ago, Ryan began to experience troubling symptoms, including abdominal pain. Ryan was diagnosed with gallstones and has been advised to undergo a cholecystectomy, the surgical removal of the gallbladder. If left untreated, his symptoms will continue to worsen and put her at risk for further health complications in the future. After seeking treatment through our medical partner, World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), Ryan is scheduled to undergo a cholecystectomy on September 19th. A portion of the procedure's cost is being covered by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and WSFP is raising the remaining $1,031 to cover the cost of Ryan's surgery and care.
