Meet Steven, a plumber based in Nairobi, Kenya. Steven is a husband and a father to two children. He lives in a single roomed house with his family in the settlements. His work is highly dependent on availability of construction sites. His wife washes clothes to supplement the family income. His children are aged two and five years. Steven supports his mother in the village, as he is the eldest child in their family of nine siblings.
On Tuesday 16th Aug 2016, Steven was attacked by armed robbers in his home area in the evening. He had his jaw injured and was taken to the hospital where first aid was administered. He was then referred to Kijabe hospital and was diagnosed with a fractured jaw. Surgery was recommended, but Steven is not able to raise the amount needed.
$660 will fund the open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) surgery that Steven needs to recover.
“I want to be well to continue providing for my family and educating my children,” Steven shared.
