Brian is a six-year-old boy from Kenya. He is the oldest child in his family, with one younger sibling. The family lives in a one-room house in Nairobi. Brian is in first grade, and and he is very excited about starting second grade. He loves playing with his friends.
Recently, Brian was diagnosed with an abnormal condition in a sensitive area. Without treatment, he risked abdominal pain, inguinal hernias, infertility, or testicular cancer. He was referred to our medical partner’s care center, Bethany Kids Kijabe Hospital. There, he underwent a corrective orchidopexy surgery on December 8.
Brian’s father operates a motorcycle taxi business, and his mother works at home. The family moved into Nairobi after being displaced by post-election violence. They lost their property and had to start a new life. They need help to fund this $535 surgery.
“I want my child to be fine,” says Brian’s father.
