Chit is a 35-year-old man from Burma. He lives in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, Thailand, with his wife, sister, and daughter. His wife is a domestic worker, while his sister works as a cleaner. His daughter currently attends kindergarten. Up until his recent injury, Chit was a shop assistant.
On April 23rd, while playing football, Chit was kicked in the right lower leg by another player. He fell, and immediately heard and felt his leg bones crack. Chit continues to experience severe pain in his right leg, which prevents him from walking and standing independently. He also requires assistance to complete daily activities.
With the help of our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, Chit will undergo surgery to reset his fractured bones, a procedure that will ensure proper healing. The surgery is scheduled for July 25th at our medical partner’s care center, Mae Sot General Hospital, and will cost $1,500. Chit needs your support to fund this treatment, which will free him from pain and enable him to walk and to work again.
Chit stated: “As the breadwinner of the family, I feel ashamed and upset that I have this injury, as this has cost me my job. I am grateful that BCMF and the donors have agreed to support me when I had nowhere to turn.”
