Meet Dara, a 51-year-old man from Cambodia. “Dara is a security guard with three daughters and four grandchildren,” shares our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre. “He enjoys watching Khmer news and music shows on TV. He is saddened by his condition because he can’t be as active as he was before.”
“Dara has a three-month-old cataract in his left eye, which causes him discomfort, difficulty seeing, and makes it hard for him to do his job,” explains the Children’s Surgical Centre.

Dara received treatment to restore his vision.
“Dara’s surgery was a success and he can see clearly,” Dara’s doctor at Children’s Surgical Centre writes. “He is happy that he can return to work as a security guard to earn money to support his family. He said he also is excited to watch his favorite show on TV and is so grateful to the doctors that he can see normally again.”
