Patrick is a child from Tanzania. He is two years old and the fourth in a family of five children. Patrick parents are farmers. Patrick has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a condition in which excess cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the brain and increases intracranial pressure. Without treatment, Patrick will experience severe physical and developmental delays. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $1,238 to cover the cost of surgery for Patrick that will treat his hydrocephalus. The procedure is scheduled to take place on March 5 and will drain the excess fluid from Patrick's brain. This will reduce intracranial pressure and greatly improve his quality of life. With proper treatment, Patrick will hopefully develop into a strong, healthy young boy. Patrick’s aunt says, “Please help my nephew get better."

“A year ago, Sokha accidentally had a piece of bamboo stuck in his eye and he has a cataract that makes him partially blind,” shares our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre (CSC). “He can’t see very much and can’t really do his job and support his family.” Sokha is 46-years-old and lives in Cambodia with his wife and two children. “After his surgery is over, he looks forward to going outside alone and being able to do his duties as a soldier again,” CSC continues. $150 covers the cost of Sokha’s cataract surgery and will allow him to have clear vision once more.

Meet Dara, a 51-year-old man from Cambodia. “Dara is a security guard with three daughters and four grandchildren,” shares our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre. “He enjoys watching Khmer news and music shows on TV. He is saddened by his condition because he can’t be as active as he was before.” “Dara has a three-month-old cataract in his left eye, which causes him discomfort, difficulty seeing, and makes it hard for him to do his job,” explains the Children’s Surgical Centre. $150 will help restore the vision quality to Dara’s left eye.
