“I wish to see my son get better, find good results after the treatment and go back home,” says Waly’s father. Meet little Waly, a 10-month-old baby boy from Haiti.

He has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus, a rare condition that causes a buildup of cerebro-spinal fluid in his head. He is in need of surgery to place shunts that will allow his head to properly drain the fluids. His family has six children, and they make very little money so they are unable to afford his treatment.

For $1,260, Waly can receive the necessary surgery to improve his growth and development. Our partners at Project Medishare tell us, “The surgical intervention will drain the excess fluids and give him a chance to grow up well and have a healthy life.”
