Su is an eight-year-old girl from Burma. She lives with her mother in Sagaing Division, Burma. Su’s father works as a factory worker in Bangkok, Thailand, while her mother is a homemaker. She is a student, but she stopped attending school in April 2025 when her condition worsened.
In April 2025, Su developed a fever. Her mother took her to a hospital, where the doctor diagnosed her with a heart condition. She was given some medication to manage her symptoms. She was able to undergo surgery in October and was recovering well. However, she currently experiences muscle weakness on her left side and walks with a limp.
Doctors want Su to undergo a CT scan, a procedure in which X-ray images taken from several angles are combined to produce cross-sectional images of the body. This scan will hopefully help doctors diagnose her condition and formulate an appropriate treatment plan. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $469 to cover the cost of Su’s CT scan and care, scheduled for March 6th.
Su’s mother expressed that, “I am depressed as I cannot afford her treatment cost and have financial constraints in the family. Therefore, I continue to seek help.”
