Evelyn is a 10-year-old smart and friendly young girl who lives in Quibdó, Colombia with her family. Her joy and curiosity shine through every day at school, where she interacts with her classmates with enthusiasm and warmth. When she grows up, Evelyn wishes to become a great veterinarian. Since birth, Evelyn has had an umbilical hernia, a condition in which a small portion of abdominal tissue protrudes through the navel. The condition has been causing her discomfort and tenderness in the navel area, especially when performing activities like jumping, playing and enjoying her childhood. Surgery has been recommended to correct the hernia, and prevent possible future complications. Fortunately, Evelyn is scheduled for repair surgery on August 20th. Our medical partner, Clínica Noel, is requesting $1,005 to fund Evelyn's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live a healthier life. Ky is 78 years old and is a retired tailor from Cambodia. He lives with his wife and his third daughter, who sells food at the local market. He has two sons, three daughters, and ten grandchildren. In his daily life, he enjoys listening to the radio, hearing monks pray, and participating in religious ceremonies. Two years ago, Ky developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. A cataract is a clouding of the lens of the eye, so it is like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces, and is worried about falling when walking, so he is not able to go places on his own. When Ky learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On September 14th, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery, and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. He can contribute $25, but needs help raising $238 more to fund his procedure and care. Ky shared, "I hope that after surgery my eyesight will improve so I can easily go outside, recognize my relatives, and feel happy without worrying about my vision anymore."

Hafisoh is a 29-year-old mother of two and a factory worker from Cambodia. She is married and lives with her family in Kratie Province. Her husband works in a garment factory, and together they have two children. Their eldest child is in Grade 2, and their youngest attends kindergarten. Because both parents work, the children stay with their grandmother during the day. In her free time, she enjoys caring for her children and doing household chores. On the 21st of March 2026, Hafisoh was involved in a traffic accident that caused a closed fracture of the right distal humerus (right elbow area). Initially, she sought treatment from a traditional Khmer healer and was treated with a bamboo sling, but her condition did not improve. The injury has caused severe pain and deformity in her right elbow, and she is now unable to move her arm properly. This has made it difficult for her to perform daily activities, care for her children, and continue working at the factory. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On May 11th, Hafisoh will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will stabilize the fracture, relieve pain, and restore movement in her arm. This treatment will help her regain function so she can return to work, care for her family, and resume her normal daily activities. She can contribute $37.50, but needs help raising $563 more to cover the cost of her procedure and care. Hafisoh said, “After the surgery, I hope that I will recover fully, regain movement in my arm, and be able to return to my daily activities and care for my family without pain.”
