Samson successfully received tendon repair surgery on his hand.

51-year-old Samson was injured when he was attacked during a robbery in June 2012. In the attack, Samson sustained a hand injury and while he received a debridement (removal of damaged tissues) on his right hand in the beginning of 2013, the procedure left him with damaged tendons.

Samson tendon repair surgery was a great success! He is currently at home resting with his family, and is expected to be able to use his hand with much ease after full recovery. He is already experiencing much less pain after the recovery, and his chances of permanent disability from the original accident have greatly been reduced. Samson’s scheduled to have a follow-up in a few weeks.

“Thank you for assisting me,” shares Samson, “I hope that after full recovery I will be able to utilize my hand with much ease. God bless you.”

Meet Samson, a father to eight children in Kenya. His wife and kids farm maize and beans on his ¼ acre piece of land. His children did not proceed to secondary school due to lack of school fees and are thus not financially stable. Samson lives in a four roomed house together with his family. Samson is dependent on his wife as his hand was injured when he was attacked during a robbery in June 2012.

Samson sustained hand injury after his attack and received a debridement (removal of damaged tissues) on his right hand in the beginning of 2013. However, this procedure left him with damaged tendons and now Samson is not able to utilize his left hand. He cannot farm nor do physically demanding work with his hand. Samson was advised to have the tendons released in July 2013 but he did not receive the surgery due to lack of funds.

Samson will undergo tendon repair surgery at AIC Kijabe Hospital. Samson shared: “I want to have my hand treated to be able to provide for my family.”
