Simon is a 28-year-old living in Kenya with his wife and two small children. Simon works as a motorbike taxi operator, but three weeks ago he got into an accident and has been unable to work since.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, reports, “Simon fractured his zygoma, a bone found in the upper cheek, and suffered other minor injuries.” As a result, Simon is in considerable pain and is unable to eat or talk well. He needs surgery to reconstruct the bone in his face so he can heal properly and prevent infection. Simon’s family relies entirely on his earnings and they are unable to pay for the treatment Simon needs.
Simon says, “I dream of owning my own home. I am working hard so that I can make my dream a reality.”
For $700, Simon will receive a surgery that will allow him to eat and talk without pain, and get back to work.
