Robert is a 52-year-old farmer and father of three from Kenya. He picks miraa, a plant native to the area that has pain numbing qualities, and sometimes he and his wife assist other farmers with their farms. They primarily spend their income to pay for their children’s school costs. Robert has some land where he farms maize, beans, and miraa trees to support his family.
Robert was tragically assaulted in his sleep. He sustained fractures to both legs. He is in chronic pain and can’t move from the hospital bed.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner can help. On February 23rd, Robert will undergo a fracture repair procedure called an open reduction and internal fixation. This procedure helps fix severely broken bones and is only used for serious fractures that can’t be treated with a cast or splint. This procedure will heal both fractures and help him walk easily again. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,079 to fund this procedure.
Robert says, “I’m kindly asking for your help so that I can return to providing for my family.”
