Nyolly is two years old and lives in a neighborhood of Port-au-Prince with his mother, father, and two older brothers. His parents are both looking for work at the moment. He is a happy child and likes listening to music, clapping his hands, and dancing.
Nyolly was born with a cardiac condition called ventricular septal defect, in which a hole exists between the two lower chambers of his heart. Blood leaks through this hole without first passing through the lungs to obtain oxygen, leaving him sickly and weak.
Nyolly will fly to the Cayman Islands to receive treatment. On May 12, he will undergo cardiac surgery. His family needs help to fund the cost of travel. Our medical partner, Haiti Cardiac Alliance, is requesting $1,343.
“I would like to say thank you to everyone who is helping Nyolly get the heart surgery he needs,” says Nyolly’s mother.
