Sr. Judith is a 38-year-old catholic nun from Uganda. Following her passion for the love of Christ, she committed and gave her life to serving the world as a Catholic nun after completing Senior 4, a calling she has served for the past 20 years. She stays at the convent with fellow sisters and mostly engages in farming at the congregation farm. Whenever she is not in prayers, she likes to sing and is even a church choir member at her church parish in Southwestern Uganda.
For the past three years, Sr. Judith has been experiencing lower abdominal pain, persistent backache, and severe bleeding. She first sought treatment at a local facility where she was advised to seek further treatment from a more comprehensive hospital. She visited our medical partner’s care center, Karoli Lwanga Hospital Nyakibale and upon review, she was diagnosed with uterine myomas. A total abdominal hysterectomy has been recommended, which is a procedure in which surgeons remove the uterus. She is however unable to raise the funds needed for her surgery.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Sr. Judith receive treatment. On April 10th, she will undergo a gynecological surgery, enabling her to resume her daily activities free of pain. Now, Sr. Judith needs help to fund this $219 procedure.
Sr. Judith says, “This condition has been quite challenging for me, as I often feel uneasy in public. I would greatly appreciate your support in facilitating my surgery, as it would significantly improve my health and quality of life.”
