Purity is a 41-year old dressmaker and a single mother of two from Kenya who is often described as having an infectious smile.
In May of 2017, Purity was involved in a road accident that resulted in two fractured femurs. She counts herself lucky to have survived. Without treatment, Purity may suffer malunion or non-union of the fractures, permanently impairing her mobility.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $1,451 to fund an open reduction and internal fixation surgery for Purity, which is scheduled to take place on June 5. Surgeons will align her fractures and stabilize them with hardware in order to promote healing. Once completed, the treatment will hopefully help Purity to live more comfortably and return to the activities that she enjoys.
“I miss my children and hope to see them soon,” shares Purity.
