Josue is a 35-year-old day laborer from Guatemala. Several years ago, Josue was in an explosion that resulted in the amputation of both of his arms. Because of this, Josue is unable to work or care for his family. He was referred to our medical partner, Wuqu Kawoq, for a prosthetic work-up and fitting.
“Josue is extremely positive after his injury” says Peter Rohloff, the medical director at Wuqu Kawoq. “He is very excited about this possibility to receive prosthetic arms, something that he has never had access to before. We are happy and excited to help him!”
With your help, we can raise $1255 for new molded prosthetic arms for Josue, which Peter believes will result in “major improvements in ability, independence, and self esteem” as well as the ability to resume working. Let’s help Josue move forward with his life!

Josue’s doctors say, “He was successfully fitted with both of his prosthetic arms. These devices will allow him to be more independent at home and even do some work, increasing his self-esteem and his income.”
Josue himself says, “I am deeply grateful for this opportunity. The extremely high cost of prosthetics (as well as the relative lack of competent prostheticians) had conspired to put this dream out of my reach. Thanks to WK case managers for connecting the dots, and to Watsi donors for coming through.”
