Ivan is a 27-year-old father from Uganda who works doing casual labor, such as washing and loading cars. He currently lives with his mother, who works as a small-scale farmer, in a two-room mud house.
For the past two weeks, Ivan has dealt with an inguinal hernia. The hernia is causing him to experience severe pain, as well as a swelling, which is progressively increasing in size. This makes it difficult for him to walk and to continue with his work. In order to alleviate his symptoms, Ivan must undergo hernia repair surgery.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), can help Ivan receive the treatment he needs. On August 23rd, he will undergo hernia repair surgery, which will allow him to live more comfortably and confidently upon recovery. AMH is requesting $170 to cover the cost of Ivan’s procedure.
Ivan shares, “I pray that I get well after the surgery. I hope to go back to my normal activities that generate my income. I hope to live a normal life after my treatment.”
