Narin is an eight-year-old student from Cambodia. She lives near Phnom Penh with her parents and two older brothers. Her eldest brother works as a car repairer, and her second brother is a first-year university student majoring in English. Her father sells snacks, and her mother works as a helper at a pagoda near their home. Narin is currently enrolled in Grade 3. Her favorite subject is mathematics. When she grows up, she dreams of becoming a teacher. In her free time, she enjoys playing with slime with her friends and eating grilled meat. For the past one year, Narin has been experiencing hearing loss, noisy breathing, and occasional loud snoring. The symptoms make it difficult for her to concentrate in class because she cannot hear clearly. The condition also affects her communication with family and friends and may impact her learning and daily activities. Narin was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which, if not treated, will cause her symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $345 to fund a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Narin, which is scheduled to take place on March 5th. Surgeons will remove her tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Narin of her symptoms and helping her live much more comfortably. Her father said, “After the surgery, I truly hope this treatment will help her hear clearly, breathe comfortably, and grow up healthy and confident.”

Ronaldo is a three-year-old boy from Tanzania. He is the youngest of seven children. Ronaldo is a cheerful and energetic kid who loves playing and having fun with those around him. His father works as a casual laborer to support the family. Ronaldo was diagnosed with bilateral genu valgum, a condition that causes his legs to angle inward at the knees. Several factors can cause this condition, such as growth disorders, vitamin deficiencies, or excessive fluoride found in contaminated drinking water. As a result, the knees can be angled inwards or outwards, making it difficult to walk and may cause long-term joint damage. As Ronaldo has grown, his parents have become increasingly concerned about how the condition may affect his ability to walk comfortably and participate fully in daily activities. They also worry about the challenges he may face when he starts school in the future. Ronaldo's family is seeking care in the hopes that undergoing treatment will give Ronaldo the best possible start in life and allow him to grow, play, and attend school without difficulty. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH), is helping Ronaldo undergo treatment on June 2nd. This treatment will restore Ronaldo's mobility, allow him to participate in a variety of activities, and greatly decrease his risk of future complications. AMH is requesting $777 to fund his surgery. Ronaldo's mother said, "We want Ronaldo to grow up strong, walk comfortably, and one day go to school like his brothers and sisters."

Evidence is a 33-year-old woman and a single mother of two children from Uganda. She completed high school and obtained a qualification in procurement and finance management, but has been unable to find a job in her field. Five years ago, Evidence began to experience troubling symptoms, including unexplainable headaches, neck pains, breathlessness, and heart palpitations when climbing hills as she tended to the gardens. She was diagnosed with a multinodular goiter. She needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Evidence receive treatment. On February 12th, she is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy, where surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $333, and she and her family need help raising money. Evidence says, "I pray that I may be helped by this program to get the surgery that has been recommended. I am praying, and I believe that if all goes well, I will return to normal after complete recovery and will be able to continue taking care of myself and my children."
