Kerson is a preschooler from Haiti. He lives with his father, who is a construction worker, and his mother, who is a waitress. He enjoys making art with crayons and singing. Kerson has a cardiac condition called a ventricular septal defect. A hole exists between the two lower chambers of his heart; blood leaks through this hole without passing through his lungs to obtain oxygen, leaving him weak and short of breath. Kerson needs to fly to the Dominican Republic to receive treatment. On July 2nd, he will undergo heart surgery, during which surgeons will sew a patch over the hole in his heart so blood can no longer leak through it. Another organization is funding his surgery; however, Kerson's family also needs help to fund the costs of surgery prep. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, is requesting $1,500 to cover labs, medicines, and check-up and follow-up appointments. It also supports securing travel documents for the family and travel costs for the social workers from our medical partner, who will accompany Kerson's family overseas. Kerson's mother shared, "Our family will be so happy and relieved once we know our son is safe!"

Baby Nardos is a cheerful and playful 8-month-old boy from Ethiopia. He enjoys playing with toys and spending time with other children. He lives with his parents and two older sisters. His father works as a carpenter, while his mother is a homemaker who dedicates her time to caring for the family. Baby Nardos was born with a condition called Hirschprung's disease. This is where a portion of the intestine does not have proper nerve function leaving a child with difficulty with bowel function. Doctors explained that he would need surgery but advised the family to wait until he was older and had grown enough to undergo the procedure. When Nardos was five months old, he was referred to our medical partner's care center, BethanyKids at Myungsung Christian Medical Center (BKMCM), for specialized treatment. Although the family initially felt anxious and uncertain, they were relieved to learn that Nardos could receive the care he needed. Surgeons will remove the part of the intestine that is not working properly and reconnect the healthy intestine to restore proper bowel function. Baby Nardos is scheduled to undergo this surgery on October 25th with the help of our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare. The procedure and follow-up care will cost $1,500, and Baby Nardos needs your help. Han is a 74-year-old man from Cambodia. He lives with his elderly wife and their three children. His eldest child climbs sugar palm trees to collect palm fruit and water; his second child works as a photographer; and his youngest child repairs motors. In his free time, he enjoys listening to monks pray on the radio. On October 19, 2026, Han fractured his right thigh bone near the knee after jumping off a boat. He initially received treatment, where his leg was placed in a cast, but it did not provide adequate support for the fracture. The fracture causes pain in his right thigh, especially when he moves his leg. He has difficulty walking and moving around comfortably. Because of the injury, he currently depends on his family for support with daily activities. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On November 2nd, Han will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will stabilize the broken bone using a blade plate and help it heal in the correct position. It is expected to reduce his pain over time and improve his ability to move his leg and walk again. Han can contribute $37.50, but needs help raising $563 more to help fund his treatment and care. Han's son said, “My father has been in pain since the accident, and I hope the surgery will help his leg heal properly so he can walk again. I want to see him recover, move around without difficulty, and return to his normal life.”
