Nu Ra is a 54-year-old woman from Burma. She lives with her husband in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, Thailand. They have been receiving donations from a local charity.
Nu Ra was diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes. She is experiencing significant blurriness in her vision, along with heightened sensitivity to light in both eyes. She occasionally suffers from headaches as well. This has led her to rely heavily on her husband for assistance with daily activities and has limited her ability to socialize with her friends.
Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $1,500 to fund lens replacement surgery for Nu Ra. On April 11th, doctors will perform a lens replacement, during which they will remove Nu Ra’s natural lenses and replace them with an intraocular lens implant in each eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly.
Nu Ra’s husband said, “Thank you to BCMF and the donors, my wife has been suffering for over a year now with her poor vision and hearing. This surgery will not only improve her sight but also allow her to live a more independent life. The challenges have been difficult for us, but with your support, we now have hope for a better future. We are truly grateful for your kindness.”
