Aness is a 50-year-old farmer from a small village in Malawi. She has five children and eighteen grandchildren. She lives with her husband on their farm. When she isn’t working, she spends her free time chatting with her friends.
About five years ago, Aness developed severe abdominal pain. She was given painkillers, but they gave her no relief. As the pain grew, Aness could no longer work on the farm or help her family.
When she visited our medical partner’s hospital, Nkhoma District Hospital, she learned that she had a hernia. She underwent a repair surgery on November 8.
Aness is looking forward to returning to her farm and enjoying a pain-free life.
