Suzan is a 12-year-old girl from Uganda. She is the seventh child in a family of nine. She is in primary five, and she wants to be a nurse in the future. Her parents are small-scale farmers; they cultivate food such as beans, sweet potatoes, millet, maize, and many others for home consumption and sell the surplus to sustain their family.
Suzan has had intermittent cystic swelling on her right chin which keeps increasing in size and is quite painful. Her parents are worried about her health because they are concerned the condition may be cancerous if not treated in time. This condition has affected Suzan’s interaction with her friends.
On December 17th, Suzan will have the mass removed and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, requests $153 to fund this procedure to alleviate Suzan’s symptoms.
Suzan’s father said: “I hope my child will get peace of mind and body and resume school after surgery.”
