Brian is a cheerful 10-year-old student. He is the third and youngest child of the family. His mother is a homemaker and his father is a farmer. Brian lives with his parents and siblings in a village, and attends the local primary school, where he is in fifth grade. Despite his birth condition, Brian is a passionate footballer. Brian was born with a clubfoot condition in which his feet are twisted out of shape, and has been treated with serial casting starting from when he was just a day old. His left foot has corrected while his right foot has not - he currently tiptoes when he walks and feels pain whenever he runs, including pain on the field while playing football. Fortunately, Brian traveled to visit our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation. There, surgeons will perform clubfoot repair surgery on March 13th. African Mission Healthcare Foundation is requesting $1,286 to fund Brian's procedure. After treatment, Brian will be able to walk well, play football, and continue with his studies uninterrupted. Brian's mother said, “I am pleading for help from the donors for my son to undergo surgery and I will appreciate your support.”

Rithy is a 27-year-old from Cambodia. He and his wife have been married for five years, and they have two daughters, ages two and four. Rithy and his wife work in a clothes factory, and their family cares for their daughters while they are at work. In his free time, Rithy enjoys taking walks with his family, cooking, listening to the news, and watching TV. About four years ago, Rithy fell down several stairs and sustained trauma to his jaw, eye, and face. His family took him to a local hospital, where he underwent an open reduction internal fixation of his jaw. Since then, his jaw has not been the same; he cannot open it without experiencing pain, and subsequently, he has difficulty eating, drinking, or talking. A neighbor told Rithy about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC). He visited AMH's care center, and the doctors diagnosed his condition as temporomandibular joint ankylosis. On December 5th, surgeons will perform a bilateral condylectomy to repair Rithy's jaw. CSC is requesting $469 to cover the cost of his surgery, post-operative care, and medicines. Rithy was able to gather $100 to contribute to his care. Rithy said: "I hope that my jaw will be fixed and my face will look normal again. I want to open my mouth again to eat, drink, and work hard to support my family."

Paul is a 44-year-old herdsman and small-scale farmer living in Kenya. His wife sells vegetables at a local market, and together, she and Paul have four children. In February 2023, Paul was walking home one evening when he was hit by a speeding motorbike. He was rushed to a nearby health center where first aid was administered and an X-ray was performed. The X-ray revealed that his left leg had been fractured. As a result, he is finding it challenging to walk and sit upright. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, can help. On February 8th, Paul will undergo a fracture repair procedure, called an open reduction and internal fixation, at AIC Kijabe Hospital. The procedure will help him regain his mobility, and allow him to return to work, which is critical to his ability to support his family. African Mission Healthcare Foundation is requesting $1,500 to fund this procedure. Paul says: “I cannot walk because of the fracture. I need treatment to be able to use my legs.”
