Ana received treatment for malnutrition to ensure that she will grow happily and healthily.

The lead doctor at our medical partner, Wuqu’ Kuwoq, exclaims, “I’m looking at Ana’s growth curve right now, and I have to say it is extremely exciting. Her height, which was so depressed, has just rebounded over the last few months, more so even than we usually see with a typical case. She’s more energetic, eating better, and not suffering from chronic diarrhea and cough like before.”

Ana’s mom tells us, “Ana seems so happy now, she’s so much better than before.”

“Over the last few years as food prices have risen Ana’s family has had to tighten their belts and ration foods,” writes our medical partner, Wuqu’ Kawoq (WK).

Ana is malnourished. She was born healthy but at 18 months she is very short and underweight for her age. “She started developing normally in the first year of life but after about 12 months of age has not developed any more,” the WK teams tells us. “In particular her language is very delayed.”

“The main issue appears to be lack of access to regular medical care, given the family’s poverty, and inability to grow food,” the WK team says.

“Food is just so expensive,” Ana’s parents say. But they are motivated to help their child get past this developmental slump. This is why they sought help from WK.

With $535, Ana can pay for the care she needs to ensure that she is developing properly, improve her energy, and set her up for success. Let’s get her funded!
