Mutura is an 11-year-old, 5th grade student from Kenya. She is one of six children and has three brothers and two sisters. Her mother does lots of different kinds of daily work, but mostly washes clothes in their neighborhood. Matura's oldest sister does some daily work and helps her mother buy food for their family. One day, when Mutura was standing alongside the road with one of her siblings and a neighbor, she was hit by a moving motorcycle that had lost control. She was brought to Maua Hospital. She had some bruises and an open tibia fracture that was severely bleeding. Because of her injuries she is in chronic pain. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner can help. On February 23rd, Mutura will undergo a fracture repair procedure, called an open reduction and internal fixation. a procedure which helps fix severely broken bones. With treatment, the fracture will heal. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,079 to fund this procedure. Matura's Mother says, "Please help my daughter to undergo the surgery."

Saroth is a 42-year-old mechanic who lives in Kandal province with his wife and three children. His wife stays home to take care of the children - a 16-year-old daughter, an 11-year-old daughter, and a four-year-old son. All the children are active in the local school and keep their parents busy. When not taking care of his children, Saroth likes to play soccer with friends. In June 2022, while working on a roof, Saroth fell about three meters to the ground and fractured his left humerus in the middle of his upper arm. He visited a local hospital, where a metal plate was inserted to stabilize the bone. However, it is still hard for him to use his arm and he is unable to work so his family struggles financially. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On February 20th, Saroth will undergo a procedure to heal his arm, which will cost $304. This procedure will help him improve his range of motion to increase strength and completely heal. Saroth is hopeful he'll be able to find a better-paying job if he has full use of both arms. Saroth said: "After surgery, I hope I have no pain and can use my arm again to work hard to support my family."

Rossette is a 35-year-old housewife from Uganda. Her husband works in a retail shop and supports his wife as she has not been able to find a job. During her free time, Rossette enjoys visiting her friends. Rossette is currently expecting her first child. She received antenatal care at Rushoroza Hospital, where her doctors recommended that she deliver via a Cesarean section because of breech presentation at term. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Rossette undergo a C-Section on March 1st. This procedure will cost $214 and Rossette needs your support. Rosette says, “I hope I will have a successful surgery with a positive outcome. After complete recovery, I will continue to search for a job. May God bless you.”
