Bethel is a two-year-old boy from Burundi. His parents engage in small-scale farming and other casual work to support Bethel and his twin brother.
Two years ago, Bethel was diagnosed with a right inguinal hernia, a swelling in a sensitive area of his body. He would arch his back and scream, especially at night. His mother tried different types of medications, but none of them worked.
Fortunately, on October 2nd, Bethel will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center, Kibuye Hope Hospital. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $197 to fund Bethel’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Bethel’s mom shared, “I have nothing left but my prayers and my two boys. I stay up every night listening to Bethel cry from the pain in his little body. I tried medicine; I tried to wait, but I cannot do this alone. Please help my twins. Help me give them the surgery so they can grow up without pain.”
