Kimani is a 56-year-old man from Kenya. He works as a small-scale retailer, and relies solely on the income generated from his kiosk to support his family.
Kimani has an end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and diabetes mellitus. He has been on hemodialysis since November 2025 and currently undergoes dialysis twice weekly through a temporary catheter.
About two months ago, Kimani underwent surgery to create an arteriovenous fistula (AVF) for safer, efficient dialysis, and reduce risk of infection but unfortunately, it failed to mature adequately. Surgeons have advised that he needs to undergo a repeat AVF creation, to support his dialysis treatment. Unfortunately, Kimani’s national medical coverage is unable to cover another procedure, and he is therefore seeking support for the planned procedure.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,127 to fund Kimani’s procedure, that will take place at AIC Kapsowar Hospital on June 4th.
Kimani says: “I am hopeful that the surgery will go well, and I trust in God. Thank you and be blessed for your support.”
