Francis is a 61-year-old retired teacher from Malawi. After having worked as a math teacher for 35 years, he and his wife now work on a small maize and bean farm. In his free time, Francis likes to relax with his wife, watch sports on TV, and listen to the radio.
In 2015, Francis began experiencing difficulty urinating. This caused him much pain and discomfort and often prevented him from working on the farm. Francis was eventually diagnosed with prostatic hyperplasia, or the condition of an enlarged prostate. Surgery is needed to remedy his condition.
Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $733 to cover the cost of Francis’s prostate surgery. The procedure is scheduled to take place on June 15 and, once completed, will hopefully relieve Francis of his pain.
Francis expresses his gratitude, saying, “Some people have money, others do not. I did not have the money to pay for this operation and I am so thankful for this program.”
