Fabian is a 17-month-old boy who likes to smile. He lives in Kenya with his parents and grandmother. To support the family, Fabian’s mother is a money transfer agent, and his father sells secondhand shoes.
One day, while giving Fabian a bath, his grandmother noticed that he had an abnormal condition in a sensitive area. After a trip to the hospital, Fabian was diagnosed with bilateral undescended testis, which is also called cryptorchidism. This condition can lead to testicular cancer and infertility. On January 9, Fabian will undergo corrective surgery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is asking for $542 to fund surgery.
Fabian’s mother says, “I had no idea such conditions as this one existed. I got so stressed about it, but knowing there is a solution lightened me up.”
