Kitumbei is the baby of a large family. His parents are excited for him to start school and make friends like his older brothers and sisters, but a congenital deformity is holding him back.
Kitumbei was born with clubfoot, a condition that causes his feet to turn inwards and makes it difficult for him to walk. Because of his condition, Kitumbei walks on the soft skin on the outer edges of his feet. This is extremely painful and prohibits him from walking long distances (to school, for example).
Kitumbei lives in Tanzania, one of the poorest countriest in the world. Almost 90% of Tanzania’s population lives on less than $2 a day, and nearly 60% lives on less than $1 a day. Kitumbei’s parents want their son to get the medical care he needs, but they do not have the extra income to contribute to his medical expenses. If we can raise the $500 African Mission Healthcare Foundation needs to cover the cost of Kitumbei’s medical care, we can give this little boy a chance at a normal, healthy life.
