ANDRÉS is an eight-year-old boy from Colombia. He is an intelligent, charismatic, and very friendly person. His cheerfulness and curiosity shine through every day, and his infectious energy and kindness leave a special impression on those around him. He dreams of becoming a soccer player when he grows up.
Last year, Andres was diagnosed with an umbilical hernia, a condition in which a small portion of abdominal tissue protrudes through the navel. For this reason, surgery has been recommended to correct the hernia and prevent potential future complications. Umbilical hernias cause mild discomfort or tenderness around the navel, especially when crying, coughing, or straining. Visible swelling: the navel may protrude, which can sometimes cause discomfort or curiosity in the child. The pain is severe and significantly impacts his personal life. For example, he cannot make sudden movements or attend soccer practice, as there is a risk that the hernia could worsen or rupture.
Fortunately, on April 24th, he will undergo repair surgery with the help of our medical partner, Clinica Noel. Now, he needs help raising $1,005 to fund his surgery and care. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably.
Andres’ mother shared, “To the people who wish to donate toward this surgery, I would like to express my deepest gratitude. May God bless you for your generosity and for your big heart, which is willing to help children facing health challenges who need these resources to move forward. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and solidarity.”
