Kanyima is a small-scale farmer from Uganda. He is married with eight children.
Ten years ago, Kanyima began to experience troubling symptoms, including discomfort and pain. He was diagnosed with a goiter, an abnormal enlargement of the thyroid gland. He needs surgery to prevent his symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Kanyima receive treatment. He is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on June 18 at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of his thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $240, and he and his family need help raising money.
Kanyima says, “I hope to get better after surgery and be free from the disfigurement and still continue with cultivation.”
