This is Wensley, a playful two-year-old boy from Haiti. He first began to display symptoms of hydrocephalus one year ago. Hydrocephalus, which causes fluid to accumulate in the brain, makes it difficult for Wensley to hold his head upright and has made him more susceptible to other illnesses like the flu.
Wensley loves playing with toys and is very eager to interact with other children. His mother, who usually stays home to care for Wensley, cannot afford his treatment. She says, “I think if my child can be healed, I will be very happy, and I will do my best to help him grow normally and have a normal life.”
Help us raise the $1260 needed for a surgical intervention. This treatment will allow Wensley to have a healthier life, to play with children his age, and to fulfill his mother’s dreams.

On rare occasions, our medical partners have difficulty contacting patients after they have gone home. Wensley’s doctors have been unable to contact him post-surgery, as his family’s phone has been disconnected. Thus, we are unable to offer a post-treatment photo at this time. However, they noted after Wensley’s surgery that the procedure was a success, and that he is expected to recover without complications! The surgery successfully removed the excess fluid in his brain, and his head size will reduce with time.
