Ran is a 35-year-old construction worker from Cambodia. He lives in Kampong Speu Province with his wife, who works in a garment factory. They have two children: one studying in Grade 3 and a 11-month-old baby. He helps support the family through construction work and enjoys planting vegetables around his home during his free time. On the 4th of May 2026, Ran was involved in a motorcycle-versus-car accident, which resulted in a right knee injury. Following the accident, he initially sought traditional treatment, but his symptoms persisted and worsened over time. He experiences persistent pain and stiffness in his right knee, making it difficult to walk comfortably. The condition limits his mobility and affects his ability to perform heavy physical work and daily activities. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On May 25th, Ran will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will help reduce pain and stiffness in the knee, improve joint function, and restore mobility so he can walk more comfortably and return to work and daily life. Ran can contribute $100, but needs help raising $500 more to fund his treatment and care. Ran said, “After the surgery, I hope that the pain will improve with treatment. I am hopeful that with proper care, I will be able to walk comfortably again and return to my daily activities.”

Gabriel is 61 years old and a father of four from Malawi. Gabriel's passion is farming; it is something that has shaped his life and something he has always been proud to pass on to his children. Gabriel grows maize and groundnuts each farming season. He makes a point of involving his children in the work, teaching them the skills and knowledge he has gained over the years. For about six years, Gabriel has had a left inguinal hernia. His condition became significantly worse in September 2026 when he began experiencing abdominal pain, struggled to walk properly, and found it difficult to eat. As the symptoms intensified, he became increasingly unable to carry out his farming activities. Gabriel is scheduled for a hernia repair with mesh surgery at our medical partner's care center, Nkhoma Hospital, on November 3rd. Gabriel needs your help to raise $500 to fund his procedure and care. Gabriel shares, “Farming is what I know and what I have always loved doing. I enjoy working in my fields and teaching my children how to farm, but this illness has made it difficult for me to do even the simplest tasks. My family has tried its best to raise money for my surgery, but we cannot manage the full cost. I am appealing for assistance so that I can receive treatment, recover, and return to my farm and the life I enjoyed before.”

Zin is a 36-year-old man from Burma. He lives with his wife, one daughter, and two sons in Mae Sot, Tak Province, Thailand. He works as a part-time teacher in Mae Sot, while his wife is a homemaker. Zin's daughter and one son attend school, while the youngest son is too young to attend school. Unfortunately, Zin had to stop working in June 2026 because of his health issues. For their basic healthcare, the family usually visits Mae Tao Clinic (MTC) in Mae Sot, which provides free healthcare services. Zin was diagnosed with a heart condition that requires valve replacement. Heart valves control the flow of blood between chambers, but certain conditions may narrow the heart valve or cause the blood to flow backwards. Normal valve function is necessary to prevent long-term damage to the heart and lungs. Currently, Zin is still suffering from breathlessness on exertion and severe shortness of breath that wakes him after falling asleep. He mentioned that since his last visit to Mae Sot Hospital, his symptoms have become more severe. He can only walk a short distance and cannot sleep at night because of the breathlessness. Because of his health condition and inability to work, the family is facing financial difficulties, along with emotional stress and worry. After his surgery, follow-up visits, and full recovery, Zin plans to find a job to support his family’s daily expenses and continue living with his family. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $1,500 to fund a heart valve replacement for Zin. The treatment is scheduled to take place on September 1st at our medical partner's care center, Kasemrad Prachachuen Hospital, and once completed, will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably.
