Winner is a three-year-old girl who lives with her parents and older brother in Uganda. Winner’s parents are small-scale farmers, working hard to feed their children and support their family.
About five months ago, Winner developed swelling on the front of her neck. Her mother brought her to a nearby health center, where the family was given some medication. Unfortunately, it did not help, and the swelling has increased over time. Searching for a solution, Winner’s family borrowed money from a local association so that they could travel to our partner’s medical care center, Rushoroza Hospital. There, doctors diagnosed Winner with an anterior cystic mass and recommended mass excision surgery. Without this surgery, Winner will continue to experience swelling and discomfort.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, can help. On January 13th, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Winner’s family needs help to raise $145 to fund this procedure.
Winner’s mother shares, “I have used my last bit of money to bring my baby here to Rushoroza Hospital. I am passing through many hardships, especially financially. I am requesting to be helped so that my child may return to normal life and grow like other children.”
