Salomon is a six-month-old outgoing and energetic baby from Haiti. Salomon lives at home with his father, who works as a day laborer, his mother, who works in the local market, and his two older brothers.
Salomon was born with a congenital heart condition known as Tetralogy of Fallot. This disorder involves four related defects of the heart, including a hole between two of its chambers and a muscular blockage in one of the heart’s valves. As a result, not enough oxygen is delivered to Salomon’s body, leaving him weak and at risk of further medical complications.
Without treatment, Salomon’s condition can be fatal. Our medical partner, Haiti Cardiac Alliance, is requesting $1,343 to cover Salomon’s air transport to our medical partner’s care center, Health City Cayman Islands, where he is scheduled to receive his surgery on June 8.
“I pray for God’s blessings on everyone who is helping my son have surgery,” shares Salomon’s mother. With proper treatment, Salomon is likely to grow up to become a strong and healthy young boy.
