Annet is a 32-year-old mother of seven children from Uganda. She currently lives with her mother, who is her primary support. She supports herself and her family by selling fish.
During childbirth, Annet suffered a laceration. She experienced this during her sixth delivery, resulting in ongoing discomfort. She has been managing this condition for 10 years and sought assistance at various hospitals, but was unable to continue treatment due to financial constraints. This condition has significantly impacted her life, contributing to her separation from her husband.
Recently, a health worker advised Annet to seek help at our medical partner’s care center, Rwibaale Health Center. There, she was diagnosed with a fourth-degree perineal tear requiring surgical repair.
Fortunately, on November 8th, she will undergo hernia repair surgery and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $201 to fund Annet’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently.
Annet says, “I hope to get well and continue my business.”
