Mbabazi is a 41-year-old woman from Uganda who works as a nurse. Her husband is currently studying to be promoted to a higher-level teaching position. At the moment, Mbabazi provides the sole source of household income and works very hard to pay the school fees for their two children.
In 2013, Mbabazi noticed a swelling on the right side of her jaw that has gradually come to cause her great pain. In May of 2017, she found herself unable to chew meat or eat dry foods. Her doctor diagnosed her with a lipoma and recommended surgery.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $196 to fund mass excision surgery for Mbabazi. The procedure is scheduled to take place on July 12 and, once completed, will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently, as well as return to the activities that she enjoys.
“My eating is now affected because I cannot chew very well and I feel a lot of pain,” shares Mbabazi.
