Nit is a seven-year old girl with a brain tumor. She lives with her family in the Phop Phra township of Tak, Thailand. She has two older sisters who live and work in Bangkok selling noodles. Her family is originally from Karen State, Burma but has been living in Thailand for many years. Nit has been attending the first grade.
The combined family income is barely enough to cover their daily expenses. Most of the money is put aside to pay off their home, and a large portion of this money goes toward school fees.
Not long ago, Nit’s family noticed a change in her mood and appearance. After noticing these symptoms, they took her to the hospital for testing. Finally, Nit’s mother was informed that Nit’s symptoms represent a possible brain tumor.
Nit’s mother brought her to our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund. She will undergo an MRI on May 30 to assess the brain tumor, allowing doctors to form a treatment plan.
Since her family does not have much money, they are unable to pay for Nit’s MRI. Therefore, Burma Children Medical Fund is requesting $814 to help fund the MRI.
