Karyija is a farmer from Uganda. He is a 72 years old widower father to six children: four girls (two operate small retail shops and two are married and small-scale farmers). One of his sons is a policeman and the youngest one is still in the university. Karyija earns a living through small-scale farming whereby he has a banana and coffee plot from which he earns a living. He also has five cows and three goats.
Karyija presented with a left scrotal swelling that he has had for over three years now. He says the swelling is painless but he finds the biggest problem with walking and the discomfort it brings him when standing. If not treated, Karyija may continue with pelvic discomfort and the presenting symptoms may persist.
Karyija traveled to our medical partner’s care center to receive treatment. On April 29th, surgeons will remove the mass. Now, Karyija needs help to raise $187 to fund this procedure.
Karyija says, “I hope that I will get some relief if I undergo my surgery.”
