Zaw is a 46-year-old man from Burma. He lives by himself in Phop Phra District, Tak Province, Thailand. His wife and son still live in Burma. In November 2025, while fleeing from Burmese soldiers, Zaw ran and fell to the ground. Despite being in pain, he continued to run until he reached Thailand, where he was able to seek help from locals in the area. He sought treatment at various health facilities and was finally referred to our medical partner's care center, Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital, for specialized care. Zaw was diagnosed with a left distal femur fracture and has been unable to work. A non-profit has been supporting him for his daily needs, but Zaw needs surgery to facilitate healing and prevent future health complications. He is in pain and can only walk with crutches. With the help of our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, Zaw will undergo surgery to reset his fractured bones and ensure proper healing. The procedure is scheduled for May 1st and will cost $1,500. This procedure will help Zaw able to walk again and be free from pain Zaw expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much to this organization and the donors for your willingness to support my treatment costs. Although I do not know everyone personally, I will always remember your kindness and support. Without your help, I would have faced permanent disability in my left leg, as I had no one else to ask for help.”

Tennyson is a playful 11-year-old boy from Kenya. He is currently in grade 3 and loves drawing and playing with friends. His father is a construction worker, while his mother is a home maker. Tennyson has clubfoot of right foot, a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. Tennyson was also born with a hearing impairment. His mother first noticed that his right foot was bending when he was three years old. “He struggled to walk and would often complain of pain, and as he grew, it only got worse,” she recalls. They sought help at a nearby hospital but were informed that the condition could not be treated there. With no clear solution, they returned home. As time passed, the condition worsened. The pain increased, Tennyson's foot began to swell, and walking became more difficult. Eventually, Tennyson had to stop going to school because he could no longer walk. One of his teachers grew concerned and reached out to the family. After learning about Tennyson’s condition, the teacher informed his mother about a mobile clinic by AIC CURE Hospital, where Tennyson could undergo a review. At the clinic, Tennyson was assessed and scheduled for serial casting and a clubfoot surgery. He has been undergoing the casting and is now ready for the repair surgery, which has been scheduled for May 25th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,286 to fund Tennyson's clubfoot repair. After treatment, his foot will gradually straighten and restore his ability to walk. Tennyson's mother says: “I am praying that his foot will be straightened, so that he can walk without pain, go back to school, and live like other children.”

Vanny is a 62-year-old woman from Cambodia. She doesn't have any children and is a widow; her husband passed away about 20 years ago from meningitis. She previously sold Khmer desserts on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. Now, Vanny enjoys going to the pagoda in her free time. About two years ago, due to her age, Vanny developed a cataract in her right eye. This has been causing her sensitivity to light, itchiness, tearing, and blurry vision. A cataract is a clouding of the lens of the eye, so it is like looking through a frosty or fogged-up window. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, including colors and faces. Vanny is worried about falling when walking, and she is not able to go places on her own. When Vanny learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, she traveled for one hour to seek treatment. Fortunately, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye on March 9th. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, our medical partner is requesting $263 to help fund Vanny's procedure. Vanny said, "I hope that after surgery my vision will improve so I can return to making and selling Khmer desserts, travel to farther places, and recognize my relatives more clearly."
