Salome is a 39-year-old woman living in Kenya with her children. She works selling porridge by the local market. All of Salome’s children are school-aged and she supports them independently.
Last year Salome began to experience pain and swelling in her lower abdomen and back. The swelling eventually developed an appearance akin to a pregnant belly. Her work has become difficult due to the growing discomfort. Doctors identified an accumulation of fluid in Salome’s fallopian tubes as the cause.
A salpingo-oophorectomy will remove the ovaries and fallopian tubes and provide relief for Salome. Salome says, “I can only hope that somehow, I will get surgery so that I can get back to feeding my children.” Let’s raise $700 and make sure Salome receives this treatment so she can return to working and caring for all her children.
