Siyadora is a mother of four from Uganda. She and her husband are nurses, but have not been able to find a job. They decided to start a small drugstore, which has since become their primary source of income. From this business, they have managed to sustain their family and pay school fees for their four children, all of whom are currently in school. Siyadora is a hardworking, determined, and confident woman whose dream is to see her children grow into successful and responsible individuals.
For two years, Siyadora has been experiencing uncomfortable symptoms associated with lower abdominal pain and backache. She sought treatment, but her condition did not improve. Concerned about her worsening state, she visited our medical partner’s care center, Karoli Lwanga Hospital, where she was diagnosed with a premalignant cervical lesion, a condition that can develop into cervical cancer. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $219 to fund Siyadora’s surgery. On November 6th, she will undergo gynecological surgery that will allow her to resume her daily activities more comfortably.
Siyadora says, “I think when operated, I will feel better and regain my health; however, my finances are limited and can’t enable me to afford the cost of my surgery. I appeal for your support.”
