“I want to be able to work again and I dream of one day owning my own business,” says Peter, a 33-year-old Kenyan who works as a garbage collector. For the past year, Peter has been unable to work due to ulcers on his legs, a complication of varicose veins that is extremely painful.
Peter lives with severe pain when walking and is at risk of infection, which if left untreated could lead to a leg amputation.
$500 would allow Peter to receive the varicose vain stripping and skin graft treatments that he needs to be free of pain and no longer at risk of infection and amputation.
