Socheat is a 13-year-old girl and student in the fifth grade. She has one older sister. In her free time, she likes to read books and paint.
About one year ago, Socheat developed a cataract in each eye. This makes it difficult for her to see clearly and attend her classes at school.

Socheat underwent cataract surgery.
Socheat’s eye cataract was successfully removed from her right eye, and clear vision has been restored. Following the operation, she was given eye drops to reduce inflammation and prevent infection. She will return for the same procedure in her left eye.
Socheat says, “I feel very happy that I can see everything clearly again so that I can continue my studies at school. I can read clearly, write letters easily, and walk anywhere by myself.”
