Felix is an eight-year-old boy from Malawi. His mother is the sole provider for the family and depends mainly on piecework and a small farming business to support her household.
One day, while playing with his friends, Felix accidentally fell and injured his arm. He immediately experienced severe pain and was unable to use the affected arm properly. Concerned about his condition, his mother sought medical assistance and brought him to our medical partner’s care center, Nkhoma Mission Hospital. Upon assessment by the medical team, Felix was diagnosed with a Supracondylar Fracture of the Humerus. Due to the severity of the injury, he was scheduled to undergo a closed upper extremity surgical procedure to correct the fracture and restore normal function of his arm.
Felix will undergo fracture repair surgery on June 11th, and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $408 to fund his procedure and care. After this treatment, his injury should heal, and Felix can regain his strength and mobility, and be able to play and move more comfortably.
Felix’s mother said, “I hope to see Felix recover fully and return to school so that he can continue his education and build a better future.”
