Megan is a beautiful four-year-old girl from Kenya. She is the only child of a single mother. She is currently in baby class, and her mother says she loves school very much. She is a very active girl and despite her condition, and she loves to play.
Megan’s mother lost both her parents and was unable to pursue higher education due to this. She currently lives with her aunt, whose home is not too far from our medical partner’s care center, Nazareth Hospital. She is not formally employed, and sells food outside the hospital gate for income.
A week ago, Megan was playing with chairs in the house when she accidentally fell and injured her left arm. She was brought to Nazareth Hospital, where an X-ray revealed a closed fracture of the left humerus bone.
On May 29th, Megan is scheduled for a fracture repair procedure, called an open reduction and internal fixation. The treatment will relieve Megan of her pain and enable complete healing of the fracture so she can go back to school. Now, Megan’s family needs help to fund this $1,048 procedure.
Megan’s mother said “I am worried about my girl. She is too young to be going through this experience, but I pray for the best for her. I have no means of raising this money and seek support, so that my girl can receive treatment and get back to school and her normal active life.”
