Joel is a preschool student from Tanzania. He loves playing with his friends. Joel’s mother sells snacks outside their rented house, while his father is a taxi driver. His two other siblings are also in school.
Since he was born, Joel has been experiencing trouble breathing. This has caused Joel to miss school due to frequent illness. Joel was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $633 to fund a tonsillectomy for Joel, which is scheduled to take place on November 23. Surgeons will remove his tonsils, hopefully relieving Joel of his symptoms and helping him live more comfortably.
Joel’s mother says, “I am happy that my son will be able to sleep well without having trouble breathing. Thank you for making this possible.”
