Siv Hak is a 19-year-old man from Cambodia who lives with his parents and two siblings in Kampot Province. His parents and older brother work in a garment factory, while his younger sister is in Grade 7. Siv Hak is not currently working, and enjoys listening to music and playing games in his free time. Siv Hak has had back and hip problems since 2018 that gradually worsened over time. Investigations later found osteomyelitis and discitis with spinal narrowing. After undergoing spinal fusion surgery in August 2026, the surgical wound on his back broke down and developed an infection. The wound breakdown and infection require further treatment. He currently has no sensation in both legs, which affects his mobility and ability to manage his daily activities independently. When Siv Hak learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for two hours seeking treatment. On September 11th, surgeons at CSC will perform a debridement procedure to remove damaged and infected tissue from his back wound and help create a cleaner environment for healing. It is an important step in treating the wound infection and supporting his ongoing recovery. Now, Siv Hak's family needs help to fund this $417 procedure. He said, “I hope today’s surgery will clean the wound on my back and help it heal properly. I am looking forward to recovering from this infection and becoming more comfortable and independent in my daily life.”

Makbel is a 16-month-old baby boy from Ethiopia. He enjoys playing with cars and spending time with his older brother and sister. His mother works in the human resources department of a government organization, while his father is an electrician. Makbel was born with hypospadias, a condition that causes urinary dysfunction. Without treatment, he will continue to experience uncomfortable symptoms and will be at risk of future complications. Makbel was taken to a medical centre and referred to a higher-level hospital for further evaluation. The attending doctor recommended an ultrasound and surgical correction. However, the family was informed that there was a waiting list for surgery. Due to financial constraints, they could not afford private treatment. Eventually, Makbel was referred to our medical partner's care center, BethanyKids Myungsung Christian Medical Centre (BKMCM), for further management. Upon arrival, his mother expressed relief and gratitude for the support and access to care. Makbel was warmly received at BKMCM, where the medical team conducted a thorough evaluation. Fortunately, Makbel is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on October 30th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,293 to cover the cost of his procedure and care. Nyi is a 20-year-old young man from Burma. He lives with his grandparents and two younger siblings in Tak Province. Nyi works as seamstress and his grandparents are retired. His younger brother and younger sister are students. His father works in Bangkok to support the family, while his mother lives in the village. In 2025, Nyi started experiencing pain at the site where his heart is located, and also getting tired easily. He went to hospital where he was given some medication and referred to Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital. At the hospital, Nyi was advised to undergo an MRI, an imaging procedure that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to produce images of bodily organs. This scan will hopefully help doctors diagnose his condition and formulate an appropriate treatment plan. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is requesting $814 to cover the cost of Nyi's MRI and care, scheduled for May 19th. Nyi said, "I am unable to do hard jobs that require carrying anything heavy. If I do, I felt tired and chest pain. Thank you for your support."
