Edisa is an elderly lady from Uganda. She did not attend school because her parents did not value education for their children. Edisa used to farm but now, with her advanced age, she is unable to do so. Edisa lost her husband ten years ago and now is being looked after by her married children. She lives with her grandchildren in a three-room mud house for shelter.
About one year ago, Edisa developed a painful recurrent swelling on her right leg. It causes her great discomfort, especially when seated. She is worried that if it is not treated it may grow bigger and that it may be cancerous. Edisa visited a hospital, and an excision surgery was recommended to remove the mass. Edisa could not afford the surgery costs and hopes for help to access the care.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare (AMH) can help. AMH has arranged the needed treatment: surgeons will remove the mass on December 8th. Edisa needs help to raise $145 to fund this procedure.
Edisa says, “I believe that after the surgery I will be able to live a more comfortable life. I will live a healthy life.”
