Tadesse is a 2-year-old boy from Ethiopia, who loves playing with other children. His mother is a single mom and they live with his grandmother who is sickly. The family has difficulty making ends meet. They rely heavily on donations of food from the government, other charities, and their neighbors. Tadesse was born with an inguinal hernia, causing him pain and weakness. Fortunately, on February 27th, he will undergo hernia repair surgery. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $512 to fund Tadesse's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will allow him to live more comfortably and confidently. Tadesse's mother said “I hope with this surgery, my child will heal. I will go to church and give the gift I promised to God if he heals my child. When he is old enough, I will ensure he goes to school."

Luz is a three-year-old girl from a mining town in central Bolivia. Her mother is a farmer and her father sadly passed away from a heart attack soon after she was born. Luz has a cardiac condition called ventricular septal defect, in which a hole exists between the two lower chambers of her heart. Blood leaks through this hole without passing through her lungs to obtain oxygen, leaving her weak and dependent on an external oxygen tank. Fortunately, our medical partner, The International Cardiac Alliance can help. Luz is scheduled to undergo heart surgery on March 21st. Our medical partners are requesting $1,500 to fund her procedure. Luz's mother says, "I am looking forward to my daughter being able to play normally and start preschool after her surgery!"

Valentina is a 3-year-old toddler who lives with her mother, father, and younger sister in a city in central Bolivia. Her father is a construction worker and her mother is a homemaker. Valentina is very outgoing and enjoys drawing and painting. When Valentina was younger, health workers came to her house for a vaccination campaign and noticed that she was very small for her age. They helped the family reach a pediatrician and then a cardiologist, who diagnosed her with patent ductus arteriosus (PDA), a condition in which a hole exists between two major blood vessels next to the heart. PDA can cause poor growth, shortness of breath, and fatigue. Valentina will be undergoing heart surgery on March 27th to treat her condition. During surgery, doctors will close the hole so that blood will no longer leak through it. Our medical partner, International Cardiac Alliance, is asking for $1,500 to fund this surgery. After surgery, Valentina is expected to grow stronger and healthier. Valentina's mother shares: "Our family would like to say thank you to everyone who is helping to fix our daughter's heart!"
