Rifai is a 15-year-old student from Cambodia. He is the middle child of three siblings and lives with his parents, who are rice farmers in Battambong Province. His older sister works in a garment factory, and his younger brother attends kindergarten. He enjoys studying math and hopes to become a teacher. In his free time, he likes playing football and listening to music. For the past five years, Rifai has been experiencing difficulty swallowing, discomfort while eating, and loud snoring at night. These symptoms make eating and sleeping uncomfortable and affect his ability to enjoy his daily activities. Rifai was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, is requesting $345 to fund a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy for Rifai, which is scheduled to take place on September 1st. Surgeons will remove his tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Rifai of his symptoms and helping him live much more comfortably. Rifai's mother said, “I hope the surgery will help my son swallow and eat more comfortably and reduce his tonsil problems and loud snoring. I want him to sleep better, feel comfortable, and enjoy his daily activities without the discomfort he has experienced for so long.”

Tamirat is a cheerful four-year-old boy from Ethiopia. He lives with his parents, his older brother, and his older sister in a rented house. He loves playing football with his brother and sister. He also enjoys watching movies and cartoons, and one of his favorite activities is praying. His name, Tamirat, means "miracle." His grandmother chose the name because his mother became seriously ill during her pregnancy as a result of heavy physical work. After Tamirat was born, his mother recovered, and the family considered his birth a miracle from God. One day, Tamirat's uncle was helping him get dressed when he noticed that one of his testicles was not in it's place. Concerned, he advised Tamirat's mother to have him examined. At the health center, a doctor examined Tamirat and he also underwent an ultrasound. He was diagnosed with cryptorchidism, a condition in which one or both of the testicles remain undescended. If left untreated, Tamirat would have an increased risk of developing hernias, testicular cancer, and fertility problems in the future. Tamirat and his mother were referred to a higher-level hospital for further evaluation and treatment, where he was placed on a surgery wait list. Three months later, they were referred to our medical partner's care center, Bethany Kids Myungsung Christian Medical Centre (BKMCM). While Tamirat's mother was relieved that this meant her son would receive treatment soon, it also got her anxious as she knew her family could not afford the cost of surgery. She manually cleans other people's clothes to earn an income, while Tamira's father works as a daily laborer. Despite their hard work, they struggle to provide for their family. Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Tamirat receive treatment. On July 20th, he will undergo corrective surgery to treat his condition, and reduce medical risks in the future. Now, Tamirat's family needs help to fund this $754 procedure. Seanglong is a 19-year-old young man from Cambodia. He lives alone in Phnom Penh, where he works as a mechanic. His family lives in Kampong Cham Province. He is the second of four siblings. His older brother is a third-year university student, while his two younger siblings are still in high school. His parents are rice farmers and continue to support the family from their hometown. In his free time, he enjoys listening to music and playing games. On May 6, 2026, Seanglong sustained an injury to his right lower leg after accidentally falling onto broken glass while working in a garage. The wound later became infected and required further medical care. After the injury, he initially received treatment at a hospital near his home, where the wound was cleaned and sutured, and he was then sent home. The following day, he sought further treatment from a nearby doctor and received home care for three days. However, the wound progressively worsened, becoming necrotic and developing discharge. He now experiences pain, infection, and necrosis, making it difficult for him to move and continue his work as a mechanic. Our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), is helping Seanglong receive treatment. On May 11th, surgeons at CSC will perform a debridement procedure to help remove pressure and infected tissue, control the infection, and support proper healing of the right leg. Now, Seanglong needs help to fund this $417 procedure. Seanglong said, “After the surgery, I hope that my leg will heal completely so I can return to my job as a mechanic and continue helping my family.”
